Recent Work

Some Selections of Recent Work:

Seranata de Amor (5/2013):

  • Musical short
  • Sound design and edit
  • Stereo mix for web distribution

This short is one component of an ongoing series of projects to document and preserve elements of Cape Verdean history and culture. I was brought on to augment a staff composed primarily of students and academic professionals; the production having utilized some of the new facilities that have come online in the recent years at Emerson University in Boston. They did an amazing job, and it was great to be a part of it.

Jump (12/2012):

  • Dramatic short
  • Sound design and edit
  • LCR mix for theatrical exhibition

This project was a nice change of pace…not because of the work involved, but because of the overall tone of the piece. Exploring the ramifications of family tragedy and its echoes years later, it’s one of the more introspective and personal pieces I’ve had the good fortune to be a part of. In the particular clip above, there is very little production audio. The majority of ambience, foley and sound effects were all created in post.

Animation Tag Attack (4/2012):

  • Animated short
  • Sound design and edit
  • 5.1 surround mix for theatrical exhibition

Animation Tag Attack was a blast to work on. 12 different animators with 12 different artistic styles, multiple composers, and an off the wall narrative that required a lot of creative thinking to help tie the whole story together. This animated short has received 6 awards, including the Talent Award from the Danish Animation Guild, and Peer Award for sound design.

From the Baseline (11/2011):

  • 1 hour television documentary
  • Broadcast stereo mix

From the Baseline documents the Georgetown Universtity basketball team as they travelled to China for a series of exhibition games. Some will remember the confrontation that happened at one of the games, but there was so much more to the trip than that brief moment in the news. The program aired on MASN/NESN in November, 2011.
